CAN INTIMATE CLEANSING BE UNHEALTHY?

In general the main issue is not to irritate the natural protective acid mantle oft he vaginal flora, which protects the intimate area from bacteria and germs. In other words your vaginal flora should stay in balance.

It is not unhealthy to clean your intimate area with a lotion which is in line with its pH value once a day. Several times a day should be an exception (maybe during the menstruation).

WHY CAN I NOT USE MY NORMAL SHOWER GEL TO CLEAN MY INTIMATE AREA?

The nature invented a special, protective acid mantle for the female bikini zone. This mantle or layer consists of microorganisms that fight bacteria and germs. In this context you should know that the vaginal flora’s pH value is 4 to 4.5, which means that it is lower than the pH value of normal skin (about 5.5). This fact is crucial when it comes to intimate hygiene.

If your cleansing product has the wrong pH value your intimate area will lose its balance which causes skin irritations and other interferences. Due to the wrong pH value the natural protective acid mantle of your vaginal flora will be damaged and unimmunized against bacteria and germs.

INTIMATE CLEANSING WITH WARM OR COLD WATER?

Use only clear and lukewarm water to clean and shave your intimate area. If the water is too hot your vaginal flora can be damaged.

HOW CAN I AVOID REDNESS, RASH, BLAINS, INFLAMMATION AND/OR IRRITATIONS AFTER AN INTIMATE SHAVING?

Use always fresh blades and don’t share them with anybody else. Shave in growth direction oft he hairs and stretch the skin. The shaver should slide softly on your skin.

WHY SHOULD I SHAVE MY INTIMATE AREA?

There is not a „right“ or „false“ about the question of shaving your intimate area. It’s an intimate and individual topic. But for sure, hairs in your intimate area are a good culture medium for bacteria and germs. In other words it’s recommended to shave the hairs in the intimate area, one way or the other.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT METHODS OF HAIR REMOVAL?

Everyone has his or her own preferences and skin type and therefore uses a different method of hair removal:

Dry shave with an electric razor

Wet shave with razor (blade) and foam

Epilation and /or tweezers

Depilatory crèmes

DOES INTIMATE SHAVING INCREASE HAIR REGROWTH?

No, due to intimate shaving hair regrowth will not increase.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR PUBIC HAIR TO REGROW?

Hair growth is different from person to person. In average hairs grow 1cm per month, but hairs in the intimate areas will never became that long as hairs on the head for example. Also the growth cycles are different but they are not influeced by shaving.

DOES SHAVING INCREASE HAIR THICKNESS?

Hairs are more thin at the end as at the beginning. After shaving the regrowing hair feels thinker and harder first. When the hair is a little bit longer it feels softer again because the end is more thin again. The regrowing hair will not be harder or stronger due to shaving.

WHAT CAN I DO IF MY INTIMATE AREA ITCHES OR BURNS?
